BCCI considers second-string team for Asian Games over facilities

The BCCI is considering sending a second-string side to the Asian Games cricket tournament after expressing dissatisfaction with facilities in Japan. The event begins September 19 in Aichi-Nagoya, less than a month away. Dressing rooms are set up in tents and washrooms are 500 metres from the pitch.

Both the BCCI and Asian Cricket Council have lodged formal complaints about the arrangements. Selectors are now looking at a B team for the tournament. India could send a second-string squad if upgrades do not happen before the deadline.

A final decision on the squad depends on whether facilities improve before the tournament starts.
