BCCI considers sending second-string team to Asian Games over facilities

The BCCI is considering sending a second-string team to the Asian Games cricket tournament after concerns emerged about facilities in Japan. The Hindustan Times reported that the board raised issues over makeshift arrangements at the Aichi-Nagoya venue, including dressing rooms set up in tents and washrooms located 500 metres away.

The Pakistan Cricket Board had already flagged the condition and readiness of the venue, prompting BCCI officials to contact the Asian Cricket Council for clarification. The cricket competition begins on September 17, two days before the Games' opening ceremony, with the men's tournament scheduled from September 24 to October 2.

The tournament will feature eight men's teams and four women's teams playing in T20 format. The BCCI's dissatisfaction stems from the compressed schedule and infrastructure that officials believe falls below international standards.
