BCCI drops Ravindra Jadeja and Yashasvi Jaiswal from New Zealand ODI squad
Ashwin criticised the decision to exclude Jaiswal.
The BCCI announced two separate squads for the five-match ODI series against New Zealand on Friday. Ravindra Jadeja was dropped after a prolonged dip in form and replaced by Axar Patel.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was omitted from both squads despite Shubman Gill leaving after the first three matches. Ravichandran Ashwin called the decision very unfair and unfortunate. Dhruv Jurel was also dropped, with Ishan Kishan returning as wicketkeeper.
Anshul Kamboj and Auqib Nabi will share the pace bowling duties across the five ODIs. Shreyas Iyer and Arshdeep Singh return after missing the West Indies series due to the Asian Games. Kumar Kushagra and Yash Thakur received maiden call-ups for the final two matches.
