BCCI names Tilak Varma to lead India A in Sri Lanka tri-series

BCCI picked Tilak Varma to captain India A for the one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A starting June 9, with Riyan Parag as vice-captain. The squad announced Monday also hands Vaibhav Suryavanshi his first India A call-up, alongside opener Prabhsimran Singh.

The round-robin format runs through June 21, and India A will play two multi-day matches during the tour. Varma's been in form — he led RCB's chase in their recent win over MI — while Parag's been contributing for RR. Suryavanshi caught selectors' eyes in his IPL cameos for Rajasthan, and Prabhsimran brings opening depth from his PBKS performances this season.
