BCCI open to reviewing Impact Player rule for IPL 2027

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal confirmed the BCCI will take another look at the Impact Player rule after captains pushed back. Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel all told the board the rule has cut into the value of all-rounders, and the issue came up at the last Governing Council meeting.

Dhumal made clear the board wants input from every franchise before it decides. The rule stays in place until 2027, but nothing is locked in yet.
