BCCI president says Pakistan no longer competitive after Asian Games final
BCCI president Mithun Manhas claimed Pakistan no longer provides competition after India's 19-run win in the Asian Games T20I final.
BCCI president Mithun Manhas stated that Pakistan no longer offers India meaningful competition after the men's cricket team defended its Asian Games gold medal with a 19-run win in the T20I final in Japan. Abhishek Sharma scored 61 off 28 balls and Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 51 from 22 deliveries as India posted 211 for 6. Pakistan replied with 192 for 6 despite Hasan Nawaz's 96 from 51 balls.
Manhas praised India's ability to handle pressure situations during the match, saying no other team in the world could match that composure. He described the batting as tremendous and noted that the bowling unit worked collectively to defend the total. Axar Patel and Washington Sundar each took two wickets.
The victory marked India's seventh consecutive T20I win over Pakistan and their 14th success in the last 18 meetings between the teams in the format.
