BCCI to decide Rohit Sharma's ODI future after West Indies series

BCCI honorary secretary Devajit Saikia said the board will clarify Rohit Sharma's place in the ODI squad after the three-match series against West Indies that begins on 27 September. He dismissed speculation about an immediate retirement. Rohit has not been picked for India's preceding limited-overs matches.

Selectors are monitoring his form and workload before finalising the squad. The upcoming series will provide the first official indication of whether the former captain remains in long-term ODI plans ahead of the 2027 World Cup.

Four-time IPL winner has urged the board to remove the Impact Player rule. The player questioned how teams can improve without addressing the format change that several captains have criticised since its introduction.
