Afghanistan seek schedule change for India T20Is over Ganesh Chaturthi

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has asked the BCCI to move one of the three T20Is against India from September 13, 15 and 17 to September 14 to coincide with Ganesh Chaturthi. The matches are scheduled at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Sources said the ACB believes a partial holiday on the festival could boost attendance on a Monday. Broadcasters Sony Sports and Star Sports are in discussions for television rights, while FanCode is expected to stream the series.

The three matches count as Afghanistan’s home fixtures under the ICC Future Tours Programme. Afghanistan most recently hosted India for an ODI series in June.
