Belinda Clark relocated from Sydney to Melbourne in September 2000 to lead Women's Cricket Australia while maintaining playing ties with New South Wales.
Belinda Clark moved from Sydney to Melbourne in September 2000 at the age of 30. She left her role as game development manager at Cricket NSW to become executive director of Women's Cricket Australia. Clark said she finished work in Sydney on Friday, moved on Saturday and started work on Monday.
Clark trained with Victoria while remaining loyal to New South Wales Breakers. She walked away during Victoria team meetings to avoid hearing game plans. NSW and Victoria met in Albury in January.
Lisa Sthalekar said Clark told an NSW player to cool it during the match. Clark scored 451 runs at 56.37 in the WNCL that season. NSW won the title while Victoria finished last.
