Ben Stokes signs with Adelaide Strikers for BBL-16

Ben Stokes has signed a one-year deal with Adelaide Strikers for the 2026-27 Big Bash League season. The former England captain will be available for the entire campaign after retiring from international cricket in June. The contract is worth around AU$500,000.

The deal makes Stokes the most expensive overseas signing in BBL history. He returns to the competition after a 12-year absence. Adelaide Strikers announced the signing on Tuesday.

Stokes will join the Strikers for the winter season in Australia. The former all-rounder cited the opportunity to play at Adelaide Oval as a key factor in his decision.
