Brendan Taylor breaks Sachin Tendulkar's ODI career record
Taylor reached 22 years and 148 days in ODIs after Zimbabwe's match against Australia, breaking Tendulkar's record of 22 years and 91 days.
Brendan Taylor surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record for the longest ODI career on September 15, 2026. The Zimbabwe wicketkeeper-batter reached 22 years and 148 days in the format after playing against Australia, overtaking Tendulkar's mark of 22 years and 91 days.
Taylor made his ODI debut in April 2004 and retired twice before returning in July 2025 following a three-and-a-half-year ban for breaching the ICC anti-corruption code. He had not played the format since August 31, 2025, when Zimbabwe faced Sri Lanka.
Taylor has played 208 ODIs across his career. He returned to keep wickets for Zimbabwe in his first ODI in a year.
