Brisbane Heat sign Sophie Dunkley for WBBL|12

Brisbane Heat completed the signing of England spinner Sophie Dunkley as their first overseas player for WBBL|12. The move begins the club's overseas recruitment ahead of the December tournament. Cricket Australia confirmed the deal and released full squads for all WBBL teams.

Dunkley will join the Heat's squad as they prepare for the upcoming season. Several other WBBL clubs have started approaching overseas players after the contract embargo was lifted. The tournament will run alongside the men's Big Bash League with matches scheduled across Australia.

Dunkley's experience in English domestic cricket and international cricket adds depth to Brisbane's spin options. The Heat will look to build a competitive squad for the title challenge. Other teams are expected to announce their overseas signings in the coming weeks.
