Bumrah and Axar reduce Sri Lanka to 31 for 6 in Asian Games semi-final

Bumrah and Axar each claimed two wickets as Sri Lanka slipped to 31 for six chasing 170 in the Asian Games semi-final.

Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel each took two wickets as Sri Lanka reached 31 for six in the Asian Games men's cricket semi-final at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on Thursday. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field after clear skies replaced the rain that washed out all four quarter-finals. India had posted 169 for seven, with Ishan Kishan unbeaten on 80 off 46 balls and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi making 38 off 21.

Pakistan had earlier beaten Bangladesh by six wickets in the first semi-final to reach the gold-medal match. The winner of India versus Sri Lanka will face Pakistan on Saturday.

Both sides named spin-heavy attacks. Bumrah remained India's only specialist seamer, while Sri Lanka handed debuts to three players.
