Bumrah returns to nets; Harshit Rana ruled out

Jasprit Bumrah returned to the nets for India's T20I series against Afghanistan and tested Vaibhav Sooryavanshi with a varied spell at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The pacer mixed movement, pace and accuracy during the session.

Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the Afghanistan T20Is and Asian Games after suffering a rectus femoris strain during a match simulation at the Centre of Excellence on September 7. Yash Thakur was named as his replacement.

Bumrah and Nitish Kumar Reddy were declared fit to join the squad. India face Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series beginning September 13 in New Delhi before heading to the Asian Games in Japan.
