Colombage takes three wickets on debut as Sri Lanka bowl out England
Sri Lanka's Sachindu Colombage claimed three wickets on his ODI debut to restrict England at Chester-le-Street. The left-arm spinner dismissed Joe Root, Jos Buttler and Jamie Overton to finish with figures of 3-44 in the first match of the series.
England's innings folded for 214 after Colombage struck during the middle overs. The 24-year-old spinner's haul came in his first international appearance and helped Sri Lanka restrict the hosts on a pitch offering turn.
Sri Lanka will look to chase the target when they bat later in the day. The three-match ODI series forms part of both teams' preparation for next year's World Cup.
