Cricket Association of Bengal bans 65 players for age fraud
CAB bans 65 players for age fraud; India U19 leg-spinner Rohit Yadav receives two-year BCCI suspension.
The Cricket Association of Bengal has banned 65 cricketers for age fraud in a major verification crackdown. The action follows the discovery of discrepancies in official records across multiple junior teams.
India Under-19 leg-spinner Rohit Yadav received a two-year ban from the BCCI after the association flagged irregularities in his documentation. Yadav, originally from Uttar Pradesh, represented India during the Under-19 tour of Sri Lanka in July and is now ruled out of the upcoming series against Australia.
The suspension covers all age-group and senior domestic cricket. The BCCI has not announced any further action against the remaining 64 players beyond the initial bans imposed by the state association.
