CSK beat MI by eight wickets to complete league double at Chepauk
Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by eight wickets with 11 balls remaining at MA Chidambaram Stadium. Mumbai Indians posted 159 for seven after winning the toss and batting first. Naman Dhir top-scored with 57 off 37 balls while Ryan Rickelton hit 37 off 24 balls.
Anshul Kamboj returned 3-32 from four overs and Noor Ahmad took 2-26 from four overs to restrict the opposition. Ramakrishna Ghosh claimed 1-24 on debut for CSK while Prashant Veer also debuted. Ruturaj Gaikwad remained not out on 67 from 48 balls with five fours and two sixes. Kartik Sharma stayed unbeaten on 54 from 40 balls including four fours and three sixes as CSK reached 160 for two in 18.1 overs.
CSK moved to sixth place with eight points from nine matches and a net run rate of plus 0.005 per the points table after match 44. Mumbai Indians remained ninth with four points from nine games and a net run rate of minus 0.803. CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad earned player of the match for his knock. Hardik Pandya said it has not been MI's season after the loss.
