Cummins becomes first active player to back Imran Khan medical care appeal
Pat Cummins joins former captains in calling for dignified medical treatment for Imran Khan.
Australia captain Pat Cummins has thrown his weight behind calls for better medical treatment for jailed Pakistan former prime minister Imran Khan. Cummins posted on social media that he hopes Khan is "treated with the dignity anyone deserves."
Twenty-two former international captains jointly wrote to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last week urging proper medical care for Khan, who has been in jail since August 2023. Cummins is the first active cricketer to voice support for the campaign.
Former Pakistan captains Javed Miandad and Moin Khan have also expressed concern over Khan's health during his imprisonment. The cricket fraternity continues to monitor developments around the former all-rounder's condition.
