Day 4 of Galle Test: India set 372-run target

India moved into a dominant position on day four at Galle. After bowling Sri Lanka out for 284, they declared and left the hosts chasing 372 — a steep ask in the fourth innings.

Rishabh Pant's 66 took him to 100 Test sixes, a milestone he reached faster than any player in history. It came in his 51st match, making him the first Indian to hit a century of sixes across all formats in Tests. Sri Lanka were 84 for four at stumps, needing 288 more with six wickets left.

Sri Lanka brought back Niroshan Dickwella and handed offspinner Nuwantha Fernando his maiden Test cap for the series. India captain Shubman Gill had spoken beforehand about the team's intent — to control this match from start to finish.
