DDCA confirms India vs Afghanistan T20I will proceed on September 13
DDCA rules out postponement of India-Afghanistan T20I despite BRICS Summit security concerns.
The Delhi and District Cricket Association confirmed on Sunday that the first T20I between India and Afghanistan will be played as scheduled at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on September 13. Delhi Traffic Police had requested a postponement due to the BRICS Summit taking place in the city.
DDCA officials met with police and agreed on enhanced security arrangements instead. Shreyas Iyer will lead India in the three-match series. Afghanistan are expected to field a spin-heavy attack led by Noor Ahmad and Rashid Khan.
The series schedule remains unchanged despite the security concerns raised by the summit.
