Deepti Sharma backs India's fielding after dropped catches

Deepti Sharma played down concerns over India's fielding lapses in the Asia Cup semi-final, insisting dropped catches are part of the game.

Deepti Sharma said dropped catches remain part of cricket after India lost four chances in their Women's Asia Cup semi-final against Bangladesh. The all-rounder insisted the lapses did not define the team's performance in the 40-run win at Dubai.

India still reached the final for the tenth time in the tournament's history despite the fielding errors. Bangladesh posted 109 for seven after India made 149 for six, with Shafali Verma scoring 64 off 40 balls.

Sharma took three wickets for 26 runs to restrict the opposition. She credited the bowlers for maintaining pressure even when catches went down.
