Derbyshire all-rounder Anuj Dal retires to take up finance job
Anuj Dal's retirement from Derbyshire caught the club's attention early this month. The 28-year-old all-rounder informed them he's stepping away after the current season to move into financial services.
Dal leaves after nine years with the club. He played 45 first-class matches, built 2,000 runs, and picked up over 50 wickets across formats — a reliable contributor both with bat and ball. The club released a statement thanking him for his professionalism and work off the field.
Derbyshire faces a real gap now. All-rounders who can bat in the middle order and bowl more than a handful of overs are hard to replace mid-cycle. The county's already searching for someone to fill the void when they return for the 2027 season.
