Devajit Saikia confirms BCCI proposed alternative Asia Cup presentation

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board had proposed an alternative arrangement before India's women's team declined to accept the Asia Cup trophy from ACC president Mohsin Naqvi. The team refused to appear on stage after beating Sri Lanka by 72 runs in Sunday's final.

Saikia confirmed the decision followed prior discussions with ACC officials. The players did not return to the field for the presentation, though BCCI officials presented an in-house best fielder award before leaving the dais.

The incident mirrors the men's team's refusal at the previous Asia Cup final. The trophy remains with the ACC office, and India stayed unbeaten throughout the tournament.
