Dhoni says he will decide on IPL 2027 before December after medical tests

MS Dhoni has pushed his call on IPL 2027 to the end of this year. The 45-year-old sat out the whole of 2026 with Chennai Super Kings after a calf strain, and he told a Bengaluru healthcare gathering that doctors will decide if the "old vintage vehicle" can handle another season. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said the franchise is still hopeful, but the choice is Dhoni’s alone. In 238 innings for CSK he has 5,314 runs at 38.23.
