Dinesh Karthik backs Joe Root to break Sachin Tendulkar's Test run record

Dinesh Karthik said Joe Root has a good chance of surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's record of 15,921 Test runs. The former India wicketkeeper noted that England play a lot of Test cricket and Root remains fit and scoring consistently. Root needs 1,643 more runs to break the record.

Karthik was less optimistic about Virat Kohli reaching 100 international centuries. He said it would be very hard for Kohli to achieve the milestone. Kohli has 86 international hundreds and is active only in ODIs.

Root has scored 14,278 runs in 169 Tests with 41 centuries. He captains England and remains a key part of their batting lineup across all conditions.
