Dinesh Karthik calls Axar Patel's figures par in third T20I

Dinesh Karthik said Axar Patel's figures were decent but not exceptional because he bowled only in the middle overs.

Former India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik described Axar Patel's bowling figures as par rather than outstanding in the third T20I against New Zealand. Axar conceded 36 runs in four overs and dismissed Glenn Phillips for 17 in Wellington. Karthik noted that Axar did not bowl in the powerplay.

Nitish Kumar Reddy bowled four overs and conceded 38 runs for one wicket. Karthik said Nitish bowling four overs was valuable for India because the all-rounder held his ground with the ball. India used only five bowlers in the innings.

Arshdeep Singh dismissed Tim Seifert for two off six balls in the second over. Finn Allen scored 40 off 25 balls before Nitish removed him in the ninth over. Daryl Mitchell remained unbeaten on 71 off 42 balls at the close of play.
