Duan Jansen earns maiden South Africa call-up for Namibia tour

South Africa named Duan Jansen in their 15-member white-ball squad for the upcoming tour of Namibia, giving the Titans all-rounder his first senior international opportunity. Jansen earned the selection after being named Division 1 One Day Cup Player of the Year and helping Titans win the title with an unbeaten 61 in the final. The group led by Bjorn Fortuin will play a T20I tri-series against Namibia and Zimbabwe from August 28 to September 6, then a three-match ODI series against Namibia from September 9 to 13.

Coach Shukri Conrad said the tour provides valuable exposure for uncapped players including Eathan Bosch, Connor Esterhuizen, Jordan Hermann and Nqobani Mokoena. Nationally contracted players Dewald Brevis, Tony de Zorzi and Kwena Maphaka add experience. South Africa depart Johannesburg for Windhoek on August 25.
