Durham promoted to Division One as County Championship champions

Durham secured promotion to Division One of the County Championship with a 93-run victory over Middlesex at Chester-le-Street. Brydon Carse and Callum Parkinson led the bowling effort in the win.

The result came with two rounds of the season remaining. Durham finished the match well clear of the rest of Division Two after consistent performances across the campaign.

Middlesex were unable to mount a serious challenge in their second innings. Durham's return to the top flight confirms their status as the standout side in the second division this season.
