Ishan Kishan leads East Zone to Duleep Trophy semi-finals

East Zone advanced to the Duleep Trophy semi-finals with an innings victory over North East Zone. Ishan Kishan led the side to 467 in the first innings before the bowlers dismissed the opposition for 111 and 146. Abhijit K Sarkar took five wickets while Shahbaz Ahmed claimed three.

Kishan expressed his continued passion for red-ball cricket despite limited Test opportunities at international level. The East Zone captain said people do not believe him when he talks about enjoying the longer format. His last of two Test appearances came in July 2023.

The semi-finals are scheduled at the BCCI Centre of Excellence from August 30. Kishan has played 32 ODIs and 55 T20Is for India alongside 134 IPL matches.
