East Zone take 466-run lead on day three of Duleep Trophy final

South Zone trail by 466 runs after Shami and Mukesh take four wickets between them.

East Zone ended day three of the Duleep Trophy final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium with a 466-run lead after South Zone reached 242 for six in their first innings. Mohammed Shami and Mukesh Kumar each took two wickets for the visitors.

Devdutt Padikkal scored 62 off 104 balls at number three and added two fifty-plus partnerships before falling. Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 56 at stumps.

South Zone resume on day four still 466 runs behind and needing substantial partnerships to avoid an innings defeat.
