England avoid Australia and India in 2027 World Cup groups

England face Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa, New Zealand and a qualifier after avoiding Australia and India. India meet Australia on October 7 and Pakistan on October 10.

England have avoided defending champions Australia and world number one India in the group stage of the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. The tournament runs from October 2 to November 21 across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

India and Pakistan share Group A with Australia, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A. England sit in Group B alongside co-hosts South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Qualifier B. India open against Australia at Newlands in Cape Town on October 7 and face Pakistan at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on October 10.

England begin their campaign against Bangladesh in Windhoek on October 8 and meet Sri Lanka there on October 13. Their match against South Africa is set for Gqeberha on October 16, and they close the group stage against New Zealand in the same venue on October 23. The top three teams from each group plus the best fourth-placed side advance to the Super 7 stage.
