England drop Brydon Carse from Pakistan Test squad after nightclub incident

Brydon Carse has been removed from England's squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's after footage showed him in police handcuffs outside a Derby nightclub on Saturday night. Carse was briefly arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly while celebrating Durham's County Championship win.

The Cricket Regulator has opened an investigation, and Sonny Baker replaces Carse in the squad. Joe Root had just told the squad to act as role models, and Stuart Broad called the incident "pretty daft for a player in the Test squad."

Michael Vaughan said a punishment to "send a shiver down the whole team" may be needed. Mark Ramprakash argued that the new Test head coach should be on hand to set and enforce standards immediately.
