Essex face relegation threat as Leicestershire appeal sanction

Essex finished nine points clear of the bottom of Division One, but that cushion could vanish if Leicestershire win their appeal. Leicestershire were docked points for a breach of playing conditions at Grace Road and have taken the sanction to the ECB. Should the appeal succeed, Essex drop into Division Two. The final table stays on hold until the appeal panel rules.
