Pakistan captain Fatima Sana was fined and handed a demerit point for breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women's Asia Cup match against India. The rule covers language, actions or gestures that disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon dismissal. Sana admitted the offence after Pakistan's record low total of 55.
The incident took place during Pakistan's seven-wicket defeat in Dubai. India chased the target in 8.4 overs. The match was Pakistan's fifth successive loss to India in women's T20Is.
The ICC confirmed the sanction on Monday. Sana becomes the first player penalised in the tournament.
