Former India batter questions Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy selections

Former India batter S Badrinath questioned the inclusion of Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy in India's T20I squad for the three-match series against Afghanistan. The series begins on 13 September in Delhi.

Badrinath linked both selections to head coach Gautam Gambhir's preferences. The 15-member squad also features Jasprit Bumrah's return and omits Hardik Pandya.

Selectors picked the players subject to fitness clearance from the Centre of Excellence. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi received another opportunity in the squad.
