Former India captain questions full-strength squad for Afghanistan series

A former India captain criticised the selectors for naming a full-strength T20I squad for the three-match series against Afghanistan. The former captain said the selection suggests India are afraid of the associate side.

The squad includes several senior players who have been rested in previous bilateral series against similar opposition. The former captain argued that giving Afghanistan a full-strength India side adds unnecessary pressure on an emerging team.

Selectors have defended the choice, saying the series forms part of India's build-up to the T20 World Cup. The matches begin on September 13.
