Bumrah to undergo fitness tests before Afghanistan T20Is
Jasprit Bumrah will face fitness tests before India's T20I series against Afghanistan after recovering from a knee injury sustained in July.
Jasprit Bumrah must pass a fitness test before India's three-match T20I series against Afghanistan that begins on 13 September, multiple reports said on Friday. The fast bowler sustained a knee injury during the ODI series against England in July.
Bumrah will join Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar and Harshit Rana for match simulations at the National Cricket Academy between 4 and 9 September. Prince Yadav is on standby if any of the four players fail the tests.
Selectors have also asked Bumrah to consider playing at least one Ranji Trophy match before India's Test series against New Zealand in October. The BCCI has not yet confirmed the final squad for the Afghanistan series.
