Gavaskar calls for transparency in IPL transfers

Sunil Gavaskar wants the BCCI to stop leaving fans guessing when players move between IPL franchises. The former India captain said the board must publish clear reasons for every high-profile transfer so no one suspects back-room pressure or score-settling.

He argued both the releasing and acquiring teams should file documented explanations at the same time the deal is announced. Without that, Gavaskar warned, speculation will keep growing. The BCCI has not replied.

The next mega auction is set for late 2026, and several big retentions and releases are already lined up.
