Gill says India missed preferred bowling attack in West Indies series
Shubman Gill admitted India couldn't field its preferred bowling attack during the West Indies ODI series due to injuries and scheduling.
India captain Shubman Gill said the team couldn't field its preferred bowling attack in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies. Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel weren't available because of injuries and the Asian Games schedule.
India gave debuts to Naman Dhir, Auqib Nabi and Anshul Kamboj during the series. Gill said there wasn't much time to experiment ahead of the 2027 World Cup and hoped the first-choice players would be fit for the next series.
He also flagged the team's fielding and death bowling as areas that need work. The senior batters performed well, and Gill said the World Cup squad would be discussed with selectors after the series.
