Harbhajan Singh says current batters lack patience for long innings

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh thinks the T20 era has chipped away at the patience needed for long Test innings. He reckons triple centuries have dried up because players chase shots instead of settling in.

Earlier generations turned out multiple triple-centurions — Brian Lara, Chris Gayle, Virender Sehwag, Matthew Hayden among them. Australia led the way in the early 2000s, pushing scoring rates higher while the rest caught up.

Now the IPL pulls the brightest young talent toward white-ball cricket, where recognition and big contracts arrive quicker.
