Hardik Pandya remains unavailable ahead of New Zealand ODIs

Pandya's latest injury stretch has kept him out since May and ruled him out of the New Zealand white-ball tour. Gill confirmed he remains a two-format bowling option.

Hardik Pandya has not played since May 24 and missed the ODI series against Afghanistan, the England ODI series, the Afghanistan T20I series and the entire New Zealand tour due to multiple injuries. A quadriceps strain, knee pain and a right shin injury kept him out of successive tours.

He was advised two weeks of complete rest for the shin injury and was ruled out of the India A series against Australia A. Shubman Gill said Pandya can bowl with both the new ball and the old ball when fit.

India's first ODI against New Zealand starts on November 4, with the two-Test series beginning on November 19.
