Harry Brook says captaining England leaves him exhausted

England white-ball captain Harry Brook said leading the side against India took a heavy toll and that he was glad to return to The Hundred purely as a batter. England won the recent T20I series 4-0 and the ODI series 2-1.

Brook, who also captained England at the T20 World Cup earlier this year, said the responsibility of captaincy drains energy even after successful results. He is playing for Sunrisers Leeds in The Hundred Eliminator at Headingley on Friday.

Brook also spoke about his long-standing relationship with Test captain Joe Root, noting they have played together for Yorkshire since he was 14.
