Harshit Rana ruled out of Afghanistan T20Is with hamstring injury

Harshit Rana will miss India's T20I series against Afghanistan after failing to recover from a hamstring injury.

Harshit Rana is unlikely to be fit for India's three-match T20I series against Afghanistan that begins on September 13. The pacer, who last played for India on the England tour, was included in the squad subject to fitness. A BCCI source said he has not yet fully recovered from his hamstring injury.

Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Reddy were also named in the squad subject to fitness after knee and quadriceps injuries respectively. Both are on track for their comeback according to the source. Bumrah has been out of action since India's ODI tour to England in July.

After the Afghanistan series, India play a one-off T20I against Japan in Tokyo on September 22 before opening their Asian Games campaign on September 28.
