Hyderabad police arrest four for alleged black marketing of India-West Indies T20I tickets

Hyderabad Police arrested four people for allegedly selling complimentary India-West Indies T20I tickets at inflated prices and seized 11 passes marked "NOT FOR SALE".

Hyderabad Police arrested four people on October 13 for allegedly selling complimentary tickets for the fourth T20 International between India and the West Indies at inflated prices. Officers seized 11 match passes marked "NOT FOR SALE" along with eight Navratri event passes, Rs 5,000 in cash, four mobile phones and a two-wheeler from the suspects.

The arrests followed a tip-off received by Assistant Sub-Inspector V Janardhan Naik on October 12 about illegal ticket sales near SD Mall in Begum Bazar. Police apprehended Avinash Darak and Mohit Somani at the spot and recovered the passes. During questioning, the two named Akarshit Srivastava and his father Satish Chandra Srivastava, a Hyderabad Cricket Association member, as the source of the tickets.

All four accused were remanded to judicial custody. Goshamahal Police registered the case under Sections 112(1) and 318(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 21(gg) of the CP Act. The fourth T20I is scheduled for Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, where India lead the series 2-1.
