Hyderabad top Group B after innings win over Tripura

Hyderabad defeated Tripura by an innings and 40 runs on the third day of their Ranji Trophy Elite match at Gymkhana Ground to move to the top of Group B with seven points. Tanay Thyagarajann took nine wickets in the match, including six in the second innings, and was named player of the match.

Hyderabad enforced the follow-on after posting a substantial first-innings total. Tripura lost their last five wickets for 42 runs as Tanay finished with match figures of nine for the cost of runs that gave Hyderabad the bonus point for an innings victory.

The outright win earned Hyderabad six points plus one bonus point under the Ranji Trophy scoring system. An innings victory or win by 10 wickets awards the additional point on top of the six for an outright result.
