ICC chief sees Nepal as potential future full member
ICC chief executive Sanjog Gupta said Nepal could become tomorrow’s Afghanistan or New Zealand.
ICC chief executive Sanjog Gupta believes Nepal could follow the same path as Afghanistan or New Zealand. The ICC has poured nearly $5 million into the country’s cricket infrastructure over the past two years.
Nepal co-hosts the Under-19 Women’s World Cup next year. Gupta tied the funding to recent on-field results and administrative changes inside the board.
The ICC has flagged Nepal as a priority associate for long-term development, with more money and hosting rights likely to follow.
