ICC elects first Zimbabwean as deputy chairperson
Mukuhlani's election marks the first time a Zimbabwean holds ICC deputy chairperson office.
Tavengwa Mukuhlani was elected ICC deputy chairperson until November 2027. He succeeds Imran Khwaja and becomes the first Zimbabwean to hold the post.
Mukuhlani currently chairs Zimbabwe Cricket and serves on the ICC Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee. ICC chairman Jay Shah said his understanding of the global game would strengthen cricket's development.
The appointment comes as Zimbabwe prepares to co-host the 2027 World Cup with South Africa and Namibia. Mukuhlani will work with Shah on expanding the sport ahead of its Olympic return.
