ICC fines India pacer Kranti Gaud over Code of Conduct breach
The International Cricket Council imposed a penalty on India pacer Kranti Gaud after she breached the Code of Conduct during the Women's Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka. The incident occurred in the title match, which India won by 72 runs.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia questioned the Asian Cricket Council's decision to alter the trophy presentation format and confirmed that India had requested an alternative handover. The Indian women's team declined to accept the trophy and medals from ACC president Mohsin Naqvi, following the board's earlier stance on the matter.
Saikia stated the team had no regrets over the decision. He added that the players focused on their performance rather than the identity of the presenter.
