Asif Khan receives a 15-month ICC ban after testing positive for a banned steroid two days before a scheduled match against India.
The International Cricket Council handed UAE batter Asif Khan a 15-month ban after he tested positive for a prohibited substance. The Pakistan-born player admitted the violation and accepted the sanction.
Khan was tested on September 8, 2025, two days before the UAE were due to face India in the Asia Cup. He has played 94 international matches for the UAE across all formats.
Mesterolone, an anabolic steroid, was detected in the out-of-competition sample. The ban takes effect immediately and covers all ICC events and domestic competitions under the board's jurisdiction.
