ICC moves Olympics cricket qualifiers to January-February 2028

Olympics qualifiers shifted to early 2028; WTC final and T20 World Cups also confirmed in new ICC calendar.

The International Cricket Council has rescheduled the men's and women's cricket qualifiers for the Los Angeles Olympics to January and February 2028. The tournaments will now take place less than six months before the LA28 Games, which will mark cricket's return to the Olympics after 124 years.

The ICC also confirmed the 2029 World Test Championship final will be played in England from June 8 to 12. The women's and men's T20 World Cups in 2028 will be held back-to-back in Pakistan with only an 11-day gap between them.

Each Olympics qualifier will feature eight teams. Direct qualification criteria have been updated, with the fifth automatic women's spot now tied to the 2027 Women's Champions Trophy standings rather than T20I rankings.
