India A beat Australia A by four wickets in first ODI

Tejal Hasabnis and Anushka Sharma guided India A to a four-wicket win over Australia A in the first ODI at Mohali.

Tejal Hasabnis and Anushka Sharma steered India A to a four-wicket win over Australia A in the first one-day international at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Sunday. Hasabnis scored 81 off 82 balls and Sharma made 55 off 61 as the pair added 126 runs for the fourth wicket. India A chased down 235 with more than eight overs remaining after Nikki Prasad and Vaishnavi Sharma took three wickets each to bowl Australia A out for 235 in 46.3 overs.

Australia A lost their way after an 81-run opening stand between Rachale Trenaman and Tahlia Wilson. Katie Mack and Charlie Knott added 62 for the third wicket, but the innings collapsed once both fell. India A were 46 for three in the tenth over before Hasabnis and Sharma rebuilt the innings. Nikki Prasad and Sayali Satghare then added an unbroken 40-run stand to finish the job.

Yastika Bhatia won the toss and chose to field after returning from the Women's Caribbean Premier League. The result ended a run of three successive defeats for India A in the preceding T20 series.
